I have it in my calendar for next weekend - who's going? Is this an appropriate event for me? Is there enough potential for getting lost or being dragged out of a mud pit somewhere?

They are many way you can fuck up at Chipmunk.
You can drown in a creek or the River.
You can fall off a cliff, if you are lucky, but you're not, you will fall in a lower trail.
They are even more possibility to get lost if you do the 40 Km loop, but you will have to be original to turn the wrong way, you can't shuffle the rollchart.
You may fall on Bridal Fall side of Thusten, so maybe go hide a bucket of gas there in case.

If you only want to have fun with other people, I suggest you find a group and you don't try to lead :)
That way we will be able to drink a beer with you, and not wondering where you are...

Lol.... I guess I can follow....though it'd be way more sporting if I led. I can get us lost and then you guys try to get us out (after you lift my bike off of me).

I wonder if is riding that you like or having people taking care of you?
Maybe we need to talk to your new GF?

You started to get worse after she started to give you those nice lunch.

Yes this is going to sound like another bitch about BCORMA. It makes me wonder how much effort the author of this post put into the details.

Some corrections
*Greater Vancouver Motorcycle Club and its members over the past 30+ years built the trails (at Tamihi too)
*Chipmunk Creek Trail Riders is an email group at best
*I am sure the the GVMC members that have put countless hours into this event and the entire Chipmunk Creek area would be offended by calling them "Chipmunk Creek Trail Riders Crew."
*Yes the staging area was majority funded by the provincial government but some clubs put cold hard cash into this project too, Right Nuts ATV, ATVBC, GVMC and DSBC. It tough enough to get volunteers then squeeze some dollars from them too, you could at least give credit where credit is due?

The Greater Vancouver Motorcycle Club is hosting a Trail Ride and Fun Run at the famous Chipmunk Creek riding area. For those that have not ridden at Chipmunk, it is great Coastal single-track experience.

Great trails, all fixed up by Wally and Chipmunk Creek Trail Riders crew special for this trail ride. Includes PeeWee, B short, and B long loops. Have all the fun of an arrowed marked course, with no pressure of the Piston Run.

Staging from BRAND NEW Rapids day staging area funded by Mike Peters, Provincial Regional Recreation Officer and built by Wally and the crew.

Sad news to announce that the man behind that ride just past away.
Wally Klammer passed away Friday afternoon.
I think the best think we can do is to make this event the biggest it ever did!
Hope everyone who know him will remember him and the work he did.

That is some sad news Sylvain. I only rode with Wally once and I watched as he went over the bars. He slapped down hard and got right back on. No pissing or moaning at all and you knew he was hurting bad. A real great guy.

Wally will be missed. I rode with him a couple times and he put on some great rides. My wife and her dad worked with Wally when he had his landscape business.

I met Wally only once - last year at the event, and I was in need of gas and he didnt hesitate to share what he had.
Wally, I hope yer in riding heaven - thanks for all you've done.

Coming out tomorrow, looking forward to learning more of the trails in that area :).

I concur. Had an incredible day exploring territory new to me. Tore a rad hose up, but managed a quick roadside repair with Fbombs quick thinking.
Way to go Mr Endo on your 5th place trophy.... you must be very proud.
