Instead of just going up the main FSR to the lookout, you can head North from the Fire Lookout on a small two track and follow this track all the way to Cornwall Creek FSR which can take you either east or west

This is a reasonable EZ Dual Sport MC route down from the Cornwall Hills Fire Lookout, down the North side of the mountain to Cornwall Creek FSR.

Does it look much harder going north to south? Might try this next week, although it may be snowed in still. 6600ft. We'll see.
