Is anyone from Kelowna heading to the Dead Zone ride?

After Mike was telling me about how fun it was I am definitely interested in checking it out.

I know the time is running out. I seem to be a procrastinator by nature...:D I think it would be funner to head up there with someone else and make a good weekend of it. Are you heading up with your buddy that you rode with last year? When are you heading out?

Hi Joker,
Thanks for the campsite offer, but I'll most likely be heading over to the DZ on Friday. I've taken different routes over the last 3 years: Douglas Lake, slabbin' it on the connector after work, and Princeton-Tulameen-Brookmere. Haven't decided what I'll do this year, the Brookmere route was a great day. What route are you brewing for the Friday, and where are you planning on refueling ?

looking forward to dz2008

Looks like we will be making our way to Savona then Walichene, Barns lake, Ashcroft and the river to Spences Bridge.n Prolly head into Ashcroft for fuel. And hopefully have a friend taking my fuel can to the camp in his truck.

Thanks for the invite Joker. I'm still trying to figure out if I can make the date. I potentially may have to attend my grandparents 60th that weekend way out in saskabush... I wish I could do a drop in registration. I think the safest thing to do might be to pay for the entrance and if I make it then   otherwise I guess I just don't make it, but if I don't register than I don't have any options... :)

If I am able to make it I would definitely at least like to hook up with you guys for the ride out of Kamloops.

Agreed, please send in your regi & $$$. Worst-case scenario is that you get a cool $40 t-shirt.

I am bringing gas in jerry cans to Joker.

So if you need gas I will bring extra fr you to.

Anyone know how long the B loop is in length, and if there are any fuel stops along it.

I do not plan to ride my fuel tanker this trip, so like Joker maybe looking for gas.

I'll probably give you a gas can and a cooler as well if that works.

There will be gas in the middle of the route - Mark or Tom will likely post the distance to gas once they finalize the routes.

Whatcha riding? The XR? It's gonna be fun. :hf::hf:

As you know, Spences Bridgestill has no gas station. You need to have a full fuel tank when we start the ride Saturday morning.

We'll be able to post more specific mileage info by June 22nd, but here is what you should know:

  • This year the 'A/B' routes will not hit asphalt . Therefore you will not be able to go into Cache Creek (as in prior years) for fuel.
  • Total mileage will be less than 250km. Lunch stop will be at about 150km.
  • If you havea KLR, DRZ or similarwith large tank, you shouldn't need to refuel. The rest of us will need a splash, maybe up to2 gallons, at our lunch stop.
    • You (or make arrangements withfriends) will need to have a jerry can with your name on it.
    • Saturday morning make certain that your jerry can goes into the designated pick-up truck.
    • This 'fuel truck' (we need a non-rider to volunteer to drive it...) will be at our lunch stop.
  • Our lunch stop will be on-route (Hat Creek Road), a fellow from Cache Creek has a mobile unit he'll set-up and will sell us smokies, burgers etc., while you rest, change roll-charts & top-up your fuel.
