I'm bringing my Husaberg FE570 out, does anyone have any idea of what the range you'd have to get out of a tank of gas without being stranded? I would have to guess that I might be able to push 120km, but probably more like 100km.

The main Newbie route is about 70km. This is the EZ route.

Tom will be taking the experienced riders on a guided tour around the lower sections of Church Mountainand if time permits perhaps out to Chipmunk Creek. There is a possibility that it may be over 100km. I suggest taking a small fuel cylinder with you just in case. There are no fuel stops along the way.

There is a gas station in Cultas Lake about 1/2km from the Main Beach parking lot where we will be starting the event. Like all events that we attend please ensure that your bike is full of gas at the START of the event.

Hi Big

Im glad to hear that you are coming out to play. Yes, I will have the Trail Passes available for sale at the Newbie Ride. I will also have the Dead Zone forms for you.

If anyone wants to buy a DSBC baseball cap or toque I will have those too.

Since this will be my first, I should also ask; Is there any sort of special equipment I need to bring along (other than my Trailpass)?

GPS? Radio? Locator?

Hi TW

Bring along what ever you would bring along on any ride that you go on. Most of us carry backpacks that have tools, water, powerbars, basic first aid, etc. You never know what will happen on a ride so it's good to be prepared.

You don't have to have a GPS or a radio. Tomcycle is a big fan of the SPOT locator system. If you have it, bring it.

It is always a good idea to ride with a friend. Buddy up with someone at the start of the event and ride it together if you are not familiar with the area.

Hello - count me in.

Will there be a roll chart, like two years ago?

see you there.

No, there will not be a roll chart like two years ago.

This year we arrowed the main route. One of the fun parts about going on a dualsport ride is using your navigational skills. You HAVE TO WATCH FOR THE ARROWS. If you come to an intersection, slow down and pay attention to the arrows, Mark and John spent alot of time putting up lots of arrows to make this a fairly easy course to follow.

Also PAY ATTENTION at the riders meeting. There will be important information. If you don't listen you will get lost.

I have made up a few maps that I can give to those riders that are really concerned about getting lost. I will have them at the riders meeting.

We will also have a few sweep riders on the main route to help those people that get confused and can't follow the arrows :p

Again, ride with a buddy.

Last rider out of the parking lot will be at 10am. I expect to do the riders meeting at9:30am. Have your bike and yourself ready to go.

We'll be on FSR's, so liability insurance is a bare minimum.

The main / EZ route will experience almost 20km of asphalt; so a plate is necessary.

If you stick with the 'hard' route, you could unload an unplated bike at the Vance Road gate after breakfast and have a great day chasing Tom.
