Differences between TE510 and TE610

Can someone tell me what the main differences are between the TE510 and the TE610? I know the obvious answer is 100CC :clap:but what are the other differences or are they essentially the same bike?

Is there a site somewhere that lists the specs? I have looked but am unable to locate much on them.

Thanks,

they are the same but different.....:shoot:i own a 2005 te 510 that is plated and used as a daily driver to work and then flogged on weekends in the mountains..the 510 is a 450 that has a bigger bore motor.. the te 610 is a wholly different configuration that is to say a more all round machine that is just as capable as the 450/510 but is more of a dual-sport as the 450/510 are harder edged dirt/race bikes..i see you own a smaller displacement bike so you would feel moreat home on the 450 or 510 than the 610..i would have no problem owning a 610 or 450 or 510 because they are [in my opinion]the bestoff road motorcycles period... go to 5th gear and check em out!!

They are different Bikes.

The 510 is lighter and is an off-road enduro bike with a plate.

The 610 is a true dualsport bike and is 50 plus lbs more. But a better all around bike.

my 2005 te510 weighs [according to the owners manual]..260.1 lbs [without fuel] the 610 is heavier sure but it can handle the rough stuff just as well-BTW which bike are you considering???......oh, yeah another thing to say ....the maintenance on the 450/510 are a little more than on the 610 only because they rev higher and are like a moto race bike as you have to change oil more often and what not.. no biggie..i say to you- you will be happy to own any ofthesemachines..

I think that based on what I am hearing from you guys and my main motivation to upgrade is the power on the highway so the 610 is probably going to get the nod. My XT350 is a great bike but it seriously lacks on the highway and I am looking for something that does on and off road better.

Do both of these bikes have passenger pegs and what is a ballpark price for each.

Thanks a lot for all the info!!:hb:

yes the 610 is better on the highway but did you know the 510 has a 6th gear as well so it can go highway speeds but the thin seat and skittish feel of the bike makes this type of riding awful so i stick to around town /work and then ride to the mountain trails etc..good luck on getting the 610 you will have a dream machine for sure...:hb:eek:h -no passenger pegs on mine and no one would want to sit there anyway....!!i paid$ 6000.00 for mine it was a trade in for a ducati.. new ones are $8000.00-$9000.00 more or less depending where you live...

another thing you must consider with any certain make of motorcycle is how close [or]is there a dealership /support nearby.....whereYOU live ??.. i bought a HUSKY 'cause the dealership is 5min from my house!!.. i used to be a KAWI guy [i owned a78 kz1000 -and a 06klr650 and raced a 91 kx500 in the 90s] but decided to change to HUSKY because they had more h.p.[stock] and a 6th gear... so all you out there may want a certain machine but maybe it could be a hassle to go far and wide to go to the bike shop....
