I looked at my air filter andit was really dirty. I've only gone 3000 km's with 500 on dirt but I guess that dust at Harrison can build up fast. Anyone else notice how bad that dust is?

I clean my filter about every 1500 km.
More frequently if I have ridden in really dusty conditions (like following Joker!):f: Even on pavement, (particularly given the air quality in the Lower Mainland) you are still sucking a lot of particulate matter into that filter. Cleaning the filter is quick and easy. I have a second filter, so I can just swap them out while the other one drying.

I can't say enough about the K&N Air filter that I installed in the bike. Much better air flow with the K&N with a noticeable increase in horsepower.

Do you have to rejet your bike if you use a K&N filter? I just clean my stock one really often now and the bike feels really strong all the time. Then I put in a twin air filter and it killed the power so I put the stock filter back in. I'm getting a little lazy so I use the notoil watersoluble cleaning powder and oil and just throw my filter in the washing mashine and 20 minutes later it comes out like a brand new filter.

I didhave a Dynojet kit installed at the same time as the K&N filter went in. I couldn't get all the jets installed as I'm still running the stock pipe. For a total cost of under $125 it makes a world of difference to the performance of the bike. I couldn't believe it when I rode it away from the shop!:dr:
It's been so good that I'm now looking at aftermarket pipes that will allow me to install the remaining couple of jets. Ithink if youfully jet the bike with the stock pipe you risk a lot of backfires. KENCO Ken in Sooke BC did the work on my bike...great guy, great prices, great work.

It makes sense that you are using more gas...but Fun Factor has to trump MPG every time :tup:.
I usually head to the pumps at about 400km....it usually takes about 18 to 20 litres each time.
