Holy crap! That would shock the hell out of you, nice relaxing ride and boom! That is a big bike with a lot of goodies on it for a crash & slide.

Yea i saw that as well and its really hard to watch. Any one here order the Holan Pro crashbars from Holan usa for the f800 gs? . Ive been waitin almost two months for these and they keep tellin me their comin.

I had the TT kit on mine and still jammed the front wheel up with mud last fall. Went down and ended up with a broken ankle. I'm one of the ones on ADVrider who has all ready done the high fender swap with the individual brake lines. I've been fielding many requests for info lately to others who want to modify thier F800GSs and a couple of the vendors are looking at my setup to produce ready to install kits.

Lone Rider, I have the Holan bars installed. I got them a couple years ago when I bought the bike, so can't help on the shipping delay question. I can say I'm happy with the bars. They've been test a few times and have protected the bike well.

Gives me Nausea just watching that. Poor bugger.
Makes me glad my Dakar doesn't have a front fender.

Makes me wonder if BMW is using that crap plastic that came on the X-Challenge or the original G450X. Its brittle heavy painted crap, but more resistant to scratching and holds a glossy paint (gotta look good!)

Thanx MCMXCIVRS ,i thought the Holans looked the best . I guess others feel that way because there are none to be found and have been backordered for months. a person begins to worry when they take your money and you have nothing to show for it other than a promise they are coming. Many Happy Adventures to you!!!!

Chitown did at first say it was the fender. The video clearly shows it shoot out in front of the bike, but the real jam-up was most likely the brake lines. Note also that BMW is interested in the bike. I believe this is Joe's 3rd F800GS. The first did not make it from Chicago to Whitehorse in 2009, the second had mucho oil leaks, and this 3rd one was just recently outfitted for his girl friend as Joe also rides an R1200R. I rode with Joe in Alaska in 2009 and was with him in Death Valley this year, but he was on the R1200R while we did our 200 miles.

Some have mentioned the problem low fenders with mud. Death Valley is more like sand with baseball sized rocks in as filler. I got some big skid pan hits from some of those rocks popping up from under the front wheel when running at speed. I suspect a rock ricocheted between the wheel, frame and fender that set this crash in motion.

Buddy last season had put a low profile fender on his klr thinking it looked kooler, and it did.
Then while barreling down a dirt road a rock poped up and jamed between fender and tire, he ate sh**, now the stock fender is back in place and the healing almost done.

Somebody ate sh** many years ago for those fenders to get placed up there, they do look stupit but they work.

Yeah ., I ment the post to read "DITCH THE LOW FENDER"

Not really sure why a manufacturer would install a low fender on a bike designed to go off road.
