Doo Hickey Tools

Hello
I was told some tools may be floating around and can be passed on to someone in need.
I will be upgrading a 2008 to the EM torsion spring
as I have no confidence in the coil springs .
(Puller and wrench I believe are needed for the mod.)

Propfrwrd passed them on to Cheeseburger?

Thanks in advance
Tim

That's exactly right, and in spite of the occasional nibble of interest I've not yet managed to pass them on. Where are you in Burnaby? I work pretty close to Willingdon and Hwy 1 if that's convenient, or you can pick them up from my house in Burquitlam.

Wonderful news
I am close to Royal Oak and Canada Way.
I am usually around most mornings.
The plan is to start the prep after Christmas as we are up to
Alaska again in Aug 2010 with the bikes.

Thanks
Tim

Any chance of those visiting the okanagan. I'm in Kelowna and really need the puller. I can make a wrench.

When I passed the tools on to Tim a few weeks before christmas he said that he had somebody in the Okanagan that he was going to give them to next. So they could be in your area already.

Thanks,

Hamon is sending them to me. I should get them this week. So whoever wants them next just drop me a line.

Hey guys, just my 2 cents worth.... If your crank balancer chain is in need of adjustment your bike will begin to make a bottom end knock as rpms are brought up from idle. It sounds like low rpm piston knock. I found that despite the spring used, backing off and re-tightening the 8mm bolt doesn't always provide enough spring tension to move the cam and adjust the chain. I found by removing the outside cover and manipulating the slotted cam adjuster with a screwdriver is much more accurate, you can physically feel the chain tighten.Re-secure the 8mm bolt. Be gentle, just take up the slack. Taking care not to over tighten as this will cause premature wear on the chain and every bearing it effects. For myself the fact that I could see and feel the adjustment gives me piece of mind more so than loosening and snugging up a bolt and hoping something happened.

Well I went through the motions doing the Doo mod. but I found out the bike had already been modified. 2008 model
I have the torsion spring and lever assy. for sale which are authentic (Eagle Mike parts) I have been told there are some inferior parts out there.

The tools are included and to be passed on to others in need.

did my doo on an 08 with 12000.

3 mm's left on the spring for tension.

Eagle mike larger spring gave me 10mm's for tension.

Hopefully thats it for Doo concerns on this bike.
