Doohickey

I'm getting a used 2005 KLR next week and was wondering if there is any way to tell if the Doohickey has been changed by the former owner or do I have to take it all apart? And if I take it all apart and its not been done how quick would I be able to get one?

Thanks!

No way to tell except ask or look. phone Fred at Arrowhead Motorsports in Moab and ask if they are in stock. He ships quick - the only delay is the mail/customs.

If you are going to look, they are easy to see when you pull the generator cover. You can tell the difference by looking at the doohickey itself. The stock one is welded and the after market is solid (no weld).
