Just replaced the chain balancer spring and bracket on two KLR's, mine and kuzzy's. Both springs were found to be broken although the brackets looked fine. Both motorcycles had approximately 26,000klm's on the odometers. The job took us about three hours, although that included somevaluable beer drinking time.We replaced the original parts with Mike's Eagle parts from klr650.com. Final cost was $60 Canadian per kitand the kitstook about ten days to arrive. We also printed off the internetstep by step guide, referenced in thekit. The degree of difficulty for this job is not that high if you have some reasonable mechanical expierience, however if you are not within that scope, it would be wise to have someone help youwith the mod............Was good that Tony(tonyrider) and Bob could join us.

Anyone have a doohickey wrench they can lend me? I got my kit from bby kawi and they said I could get away without it. NOT!

I live in Surrey and work in Burnaby so anywhere near there is fine. I'll pick it up and drop it off with a box of Timbits;)

Signed, Desperately seeking doohickey wrench.

I have wrench and puller in Chilliwack. Do you have a 1/2" drive impact gun? That's the easiest way to loosen the rotor bolt.

No I don't, but I can get one. But I still need a wrench and you are closer :). Hopefully someone will come forward who is even closer.

Dooveman, I live in Abbotsford, and if you'd like, you can bring your bike here or I'll lend you my wrench.
