End of season get together Cranbrook

I've got a new place at the base of Baker with trail access across the road. Thinking of having a BBQ and ride in a couple of weeks weather permitting. Anyone interested?

Mmmm...maybe coffee and a ride this weekend is more realistic. No plate required and lots of parking.

Hi Ripple:

I think it's a good idea to get together even if it's just to get to know who's around, and get some phone numbers. I've met you and getoutside and one or two other guys, but I have no idea how many bushwackers there really are in the Kimb/Cran area.

I notice many of the other areas are experiencing lots of closures, gates and stuff, and I think that forming a group might be helpful in the future. A lot of small areas have an informal once a month coffee meeting, just to stay in touch, and we should too.

Conditions have to be real good for me to ride these days, but I would try to make a coffee meeting anywhere.

I might be in for one last ride before it snows. I've been without my bike since Aug 4th until last week when my base gasket finally showed up. It started leaking on the way home from work one day and I didn'tnotice til I tried my back brake and it didn't work from all the oil on it.

Might be up for a ride this weekend. Planning on heading out anyways. Wouldnt mind meeting some to new folks to ride with. Let me know what the plans are. Prefer a non plated ride (plates valid but no motorcycle license.). Might as well enjoy the good weather before the snow flies.

Cheers guys. :hb:

Is sunday good? Forecast has a higher temp and more sun as of this morning. I've got some other things to work into the weekend as well. Assuming yes maybe meet at 10 in the Macs parking lot at the intersection of Victoria and 2nd north. I'll guide you up to my place where we can unload, have coffee and ride. If this doesn't work let me know.

Would work for me. let me know if shes a go. Just curious as to what type of riding your thinking of doing. I dont have a heck of alot of experience on the bike yet so prefer nothing to technical. Also still breaking the bike in so i may be a bit slow on the service roads (can do about 60kph in sixth gear).

Cheers Ripple

Just the usual triple jumps over crocodile filled ponds. 1000 foot drops. You ride a Kawi, you'll be fine.:)

I'll be there. The ride can be whatever works since it is close to home and any route can be selected. Speedy is the only one I didn't check out his riding before dragging him through the trails. He opened his garage door and I figured he knew what he's doing. No internet at home so this is my last message.

Hey Ripple, great ride ride with you and SpeedyXR today:tup:. Had a great time and nice to meet some other folks that ride here in Cranbrook. We'll have to do it again sometime. Fun trails with a nice bit of challenge for a newbie like myself.

Too bad bout my little "incident" though:mad3:. LOL. Shit happens. Anyways I'll post a couple of pics in the photo section.

Cheers guys:hb:

Thanks SpeedyXR. I'll have to check things out with the dealer. Those aluminum rad guards would be sweet. Beats the hell out ofthe OEM plastic ones I bet. Now for plastics. Probably gonna be hard to find aftermarket side covers for the 09. So far I havent found squat on the web. Seeing the bike is brand new, not sure if any of the aftermarket companies have yet starting making replacement plastics to fit the 09 Klx 250s.

Also need to replace the bracket on the rad I think that the side cover and rad guard bolt onto. Looked this morning and thankfully no coolant leaks. Thank god I didnt damage the rad yesterday. 2009 better be a better year for me. I must be cursed. Lol. :(

Great riding with you hand Ripple yesterday. Had a great time besides you know what.:mad3:Fun trails and a good challenge for me.

Keep er pinned. Cheers:hb:

If it helps you did do several sections better than I did the first time. At least the damage is only plastic.

LOL. Thanks. Yeah it sucks that it happened. At least it wasnt at high speed. No one was hurt and no mechanical damage at least. I dont know if they make them yet for the 09 KLX, but an aluminum rad guard might be in order. The plastic shrouds are crap. Will have to find out if an 08 guard would fit.

Anyways thanks again for having us over to your place for the ride. Had a great time. Good to be challanged on the bike. Cheers
