Hi there - we were up there last weekend and it was pretty quite. If you're looking for more of a "quiet" place that's pretty much a certain, Tunkwa Provincial park's pretty good. Good riding right out the gate. It is a pay site though....

Also trying to decide between Tunkwa and Duffy for a family vacation stopover. Are these marked ATV trails or quad trails? Whats the difficulty level for a novice dualsport rider?

Hi Buck, some trails are marked with the snowmobile symbol or arrows, but that's pretty much it. The riding around Tunkwa, Duffy, Bose Lake, etc is excellent. Ranges from FSR to good two track, single track and mud bogs - something for everyone. Good rides can be had up to the top of Savona and Greenstone Mountain for spectaular views of the valley and Kamloops Lake. The times we've stayed at Tunkwa, it's been primarily fishermen and families. If you do go to the area, keep an eye out for the herd of wild horses!

The Forestry site you are referring to is ran by the local motocross club (the GKMA). They do good work and appreciate the campers that support them The rednecks that camp allong the road and in the "mid section" are simply trying to save 10 bucks....take advantage of the maintained trails....and throw their garbage everywhere...

By "Mid Section" I ment the center part of the camping area at the lake, the area that is on the hill.

Might see you there. We'll look for that GKMA maintained campsite on Wednesday... worth the 10 bucks per night for piece of mind. Is it right besideDuffy lake? Any good for swimming and fishing?
