Dual Star has some neat stuff but customer service is... well, the opposite of good.

Fred Hink at Arrowhead Motorsports in Moab is the place to go. http://www.angelfire.com/ut/moab/

He will ship to Canada using the US post office and save you getting raped by FedUp or UselessPS couriers.

I have had success with Happy Trails as well.

Be warned the happy trails crash bars for the 08 klr650 fold up like a pretzel if you actually crash on them.

My pal had them on his 2008 klr, and when it dumped ( not too hard either, i saw him go down ) the bars bent all up, and basically offered NO protection.

Hmm... and they looked much more skookum than the crash bars on twistedthrottle.com.

How tough were the ones on pre 2008s?

The weld broke, and that was the END.

Has anyone had any experience with KLR650.com?

I've read some less than stellar reviews on KLR650.net about their level of service and quality of parts.

I can vouch for the rad/coolant crash bars on pre-2008 models (I have an '04, and my wife has an '05). I've dumped mine many times, quite a few of which were pretty hard and the bike wasn't too bad afterwards. The tabs on the inside of the plastic shrouds broke off long ago, replaced with short aluminum tabs that were riveted to the shouds. The rad guard would occasionally get bent back from the force of the hit, so I'd have to pull it back forward into the right spot when I'd get home, but the rad itself never got damaged. Once or twice the force of the hit would push the rad into the cooling fan though :(

KLR650.net has a real hate on for KLR650.com because they sell knock offs (some of their stuff) and it takes jobs away from 'mericans. So what. I have friends that have purchased a few things from them and they were happy with both the quality and service they received.

www.aviciouscycle.ca These guys sell the same stuff as KLR650.com, but from this side of the border.

Very crash proof and tested.

You've about summed the list. Yes, there are some others that have some parts (I think I've bought from just about everywhere now), but Happy trails and dualstar have it about covered.

Cool. Thanks for all the info guys. Looks like most of the sites are still getting their 08 model stuff in order as there is still not alot of availability on aftermarket upgrades yet. Hopefully they will before I ended up busting something. :D

I have the Hepco-Becker crash bars from Twisted Throttle on my '08 and can vouch for their quality and strength. Mine have been crash tested once...absolutely no damage to the bike. Twisted Throttle will mail these USPS and I believe Spunky's can order these now, not sure how the price compares though.

klr650.com has always treated me well.

I have ordered a ton of stuff and so have friends of mine over the years.

Same quality stuff s many others, but cheaper, and faster delivery basically.

Vicious Cycle definitely has better shipping rates and the pricing is pretty much the same as it is on the US sites. There's still a pretty limited selection of gear for 08's though...

Now the question (that probably can't be answered) is who has the nicest? :D
