Date - Location - Time? (or have the volunteer orgs abandoned the forum in favor of FB?)
IMO the forum has recently become way harder to read for new/unread posts but I hope that DSBC has not become FB only cus IMO you could not pay me be on FB cus I call it FUZKFACED BOOK![]()
x2.. fix it or were gone....

While this is most definitely a thread hijack - I'm chiming in here as there will always be a special place in my heart for DSBC, and I too am lamenting the impact the technical changes have made on this beloved local hangout. I understand those hard working folk behind the scenes are volunteers, thank them for their service, and know they have the best of intentions.
I'm sure we all recognize that in order to retain and ideally grow the community here, this need to be resolved. Information needs to be easy to find (search), and forums easy to participate in. If a new user lands here, we'll quickly lose them if they cant easily find value, or are faced with a convoluted signup process.
Sites like advrider.com have gone through (https://advrider.com/f/threads/xenfo...n-faq.1079599/, https://advrider.com/f/threads/prett...oming.1257792/) the very same challenges (albeit at a different scale), and there's much that we can learn from their journey. I strongly recommend moving to a managed service, and abstracting away the complexities of the technology so we can focus on community - the reason folks gather here.
DualSportBC is a well recognized and respected entity, and to let it languish further would be a loss for the local riding community, and a lost opportunity considering the herculean effort that has gone into it for so long by so many. I urge the organizers to make this a priority - and am encouraged to hear this is front of mind for them.
I'm keeping the faith, and hoping for a return to glory! Thanks.
Thoughts on seeking an intern or student to help? There's gotta be some out there who like dual sport bikes and perhaps want to add to their portfolio while joining a community?
When I was on the executive leadership team for VCMC Motorsport Club (entirely volunteer driven, just like this club) we went through some pretty radical digital change in the early 2000's, and leaned heavily on younger tech-savvy members to do so. (we were also lucky to have some veteran members who were particularly proficient in the digital sphere at that time.)
I'm obviously preaching to the choir here, just a new guy chiming in.
