I figured making an intro and ride report all-in-one was more expedient so here you go:
We're a small close-knit group who enjoy doing moto camping trips. We tend to stay away from motels and provincial sites, favouring remote locations with spectacular views and riding. Some of our other recent but non documented trips include: sunshine coast area, Blowdown Lake, South-west vancouver island, Molybdenite ridge x2, and Moab to name a few.
This most recent trip was set with no particular plan, just a week to ride as much of the KVR as possible. We left Hope on a wed and kept on trucking through rain, lightning, washouts and mud until hitting severe weather forecasts, flash flood warnings, and more washouts- we made it as far as Rock Creek, with plenty of side-exploration too.
Take a gander at some photos! I may upload more as other guys from the group share some...
Also I'd like to give a big shout out to Dan from Red Rock Garage in Beaverdell. We stopped here for gas, and he helped us to warm up, let us use the shop to clean up, air up tires, etc etc. He's super kind and is another dual sport/sport touring enthusiast. The coffee and baked goods were tasty too! This gas station offers a full service motorcycle repair shop, as well as locally baked foods, fresh roasted local coffee, and a number of cabins out back if you want to explore the area over a few days.
