Hard to find Neutral on a 950

So I've got an '04 950 adventure. When i am riding and sitting at a light with the clutch in. The bike feels like the clutch hasn't fully released. The other issue i have is that it is hard to find neutral when the bike is running.
I've heard of this problem being somewhat common. But what exactly is it and how do i go about solving the issue?

Can someone please point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Wow! Mine does not do this, Maybe you need to bleed your clutch? Or maybe its time for a new clutch slave?
The clutch slaves on the KTM's are famous for failing. I replaced mine with a Oberon model.
I have 2 LC8's and they both work properly. Go to the ADVrider forum and look up the Orange crush thread and there is a HOW thread that will tell you everything there is to know about the LC8's

I just found the Oberon website. Pretty slick looking unit. I think that i will be replacing it for sure. I asked here first because i was reading the ADVrider forum and saw a member there changing the slave. I just didn't know what he was exactly problem he was trying to solve.

Does the lever feel mushy? Have you checked the oil level in the master? I don't have a 950, but it's a very common problem easily fixed with the Oberon or Evoluzione. Don't rule out a Rekluse, and forget about your clutch lever all together. If you do a lot of off road, it's awesome!

I`d rather have a difficulty finding neutral once in a while than hit neutral every time between first and second.

yeah the not finding neutral isn't so much the big deal it is when i am sitting at a stop with the clutch in, it feels like it isn't releasing all the way and the bike is kind of itching to go.

You most likely will have to clean the clutch pushrod oil jet. It is located just behind the front sprocket. You will see a little allen head cap screw. Undo this and stick some thin wire/welding tip cleaner in the jet to unclog it. Bleed your clutch also. You might have the old style clutch push rod too. You might want to change it out for the newer one the next time you have the bike apart for servicing.

I also have that problem. I've read on ADVrider that it may be too much oil getting on the clutch plates. When I blip the throttle, I can feel the clutch release fully.
Once I get the garage cleaned out, I'm going to try and block the jet a bit.
If you have the 2 piece pushrod, and need the solid one piece rod, let me know, I have a brand new one here, never installed. I ordered it for my bike when I was checking all the threads. Pulled the pushrod, and found it was the new version.

Yes the oul jet may be plugged.
I found on my SE that the slave would leak externally a little, and the feel would change.
I have been flushing new fluid twice a year and this has worked prety good for me......but pretty sure Santa will be bringing me the EVO unit !

I found the original oil gets prety dirty.






Flushed through LOTS of oil to clean, and replaced the 0-ring on the piston.

Wow thanks. Now i still just need more time in my life to try and get the stuff sorted.

When i do get around to attempting any of these things i will be sure to post up what has cured my ailments.
