Hi Everyone,
I discovered this club at the motorcycle show today.
Your great reps at the booth steered me to this site, and I hope to join and participate in your events when I can.
A bit about me:
I'm a novice rider having been riding for only 2 years now.
Started out with the PRS school, and will be taking their enduro school in April.
I ride a 2006 F650GS (only recently acquired, ridden about 5 times), and a 1978 Yamaha SR500 which is my little cafe racer.
My Motorsport experience prior was focused mostly on car racing; including: Autocross (won a few championships nationally and down south), HillClimb (Knox Mountain King of the Hill a few years back), and now endurance racing (2 podiums so far). I also instructed for around 15 years, so appreciate the value of proper training.
It fascinates me how much from the auto racing world translates to motorcycling best practices. (and I'm not even talking about track based riding)
That Said...
On the dirt, I am a real neophyte!
I've explored some of BC's backcountry by overlanding in 4x4's but never on 2 wheels!
Hoping to learn lots here, skills, tech, great spots to visit etc.
I'm also an avid amateur photographer and enjoy writing, so if I can take some photos along the way, and tell some good stories, all the better!
You can see a bit of my stuff here: https://www.yarkoonthego.com (the site is quite new, -there will be a riding section!)
Hope to meet some of you at the Flat Tire Social (a skill I certainly need to acquire!)
