I'm a KTM 390 adventure owner for the last two years and situated in Maple Ridge. Only have little off road experience but want to change this.

I recently decided to put her up for sale and go for a bigger KTM 890 adventure R as I didn't wanted to spend all the money in upgrades for the little 390. The 390 is still available.

The plan for 2022 is to get more experienced and take on the North Island 1000 next year.

My question is, what are good beginner trails (not single track)? Preferable round trips.

welcome Matthias to this bottomless pit of dirt and bikes that is DSBC! Big difference between a 390 and a 890! Keep an eye out for Offworlder's posts as soon enuf he is likely to start posting about "organized" rides that may suit what you're looking for, though they are mostly starting in the Squamish area but the 890 is perfect for the slab to get there. Not sure if there will be a Nubie ride this year as there is usually a bigger bike (nubie friendly) ride that is a terrific place to connect with other riders and ideas about future rides.
