you can't rent a bike unless you hold a valid class 6. You either have to borrow one off a buddy or drop 700 bucks and take a course and use their ride.

That's kind of what I'm afraid of. I emailed CycleBC to ask if they will drop-off a rental bike at ICBC and let me use it for a couple hours to do the MST test. Still waiting to hear back from them.

What a pain in the butt. I just want to ride a couple klicks to the trails. Now I'm really kicking myself for not doing the class 6 road test last season when I owned a highway cruiser. Doh!

I'm in Maple Ridge. The closest testing location is in Port Coquitlam, but they only do the MST test Wed-Fri. The other option is Burnaby, Boundary rd and Lougheed any day during the week. I've got a car so I am willing to go wherever I need to to take the test.

It's just a simple "traffic cone" test in a parking lot. I wouldn't need to ride your bike on the street. I've been riding dirt bikes since I was 8, and I rode a full season on a Honda 750 Magna last year. I'm 28 years old, not a young kid. I won't drop your bike, I swear. I'll even write you a blank check before the test if you are worried about possible damages.

Willing to pay whatever you want if you have a free afternoon coming up. Best time for me is the 2nd week of July, but I could likely take a day off work if you have another day available.

If anyone is willing to ride to ICBC and let me ride around some cones for 15 minutes I would be forever grateful. I'm a computer geek by trade, so if you want we could also arrange for some quid-pro-quo. (Clean a virus, re-install your OS, fix a website, etc)

It's a long shot I know, but I'm kind of stuck if I can't rent a bike without a class 6. Once I pass the MST I don't think I will have a problem renting one for the road test.

Thanks for all the help guys. Really appreciated.

MC Skills Test is available at most motorcycle training outfits they have in house examiners. I would love to assist you but like most others my work sched does not jive with yours.

Hey guys,

Thanks for all the kind offers!

I spoke with CycleBC and they will rent me a KLX250 for $80 for 2 hours even though I only have a class 6L. I would have to rent or borrow a truck to get the bike from CycleBC to ICBC but that's a solvable problem. So crisis averted there.

Once I get my license I don't have any problems riding the RUM bike on the street, since all the lights and stuff are working I shouldn't have any problems if I get pulled over. I don't think I would get a VI ticket unless one of the lights isn't working. The tires are DOT legal and everything. It's just not worth $80 to risk bringing the bike to ICBC.

Thanks again guys, you rock. Hopefully I will be able to join you guys on some trail rides soon!
