How many Vstromer's do we have, and what off-roading do you do?

The v-strom is a great bike for most of my riding but I really would like a DRZ400 as well. Then I could do everything I want.

I'm wondering lately if I'm in the same situation. What did you replace it with?
The new body style KLR650 from Kawi works well on the street, and is far more capable offroad....do not confuse it with a motocross bike, but leap years ahead of a V-strom offroad.....the stock KLR needs better tires put on, and the front sprocket dropped 2 teeth, then its amazing where it can go offroad.

I love my Suzuki 650 - Saturdays it is my DR which goes everywhere it needs to off road and handles the hwy at 60-70 mph. Mon to Friday and longer asphalt trips is my 650 DL. The V strom has saved my butt! Not so much in terms of handling but the vibration is less and the seat is wider and padded. 100 miles on the DR on asphalt and you call it a day and on the DL you are just warming up. The DR however is unphased working through 30-40 miles of double and single track and you can still head home on the freeway. The DL would just be ruined frankly off road beyond hard pack trails and good gravel roads. The 650 DR is off road definitely out performed by 400 DRZ's and those orange rocket like KTM's.

As for the KLR frankly I have not heard anyone who owned one complain.....ever so they are good value. The Vstrom is good value too in my opinion for round trip touring under 1000 miles. Beyond 1500 km I do believe the larger 800 and 1000 sized bikes offer a bit more comfort and can handle more luggage and two up travellers.

Any how that's my nickle.
