yeah i got a te610. local dealership only seemed interested in selling me a bmw (if i had $10k, maybe). lots of changes on the new model look great. if you look around enough, there are already aftermarket parts for the 2008.

hey 5thgear, when is the arrival date for my new bike? i need an excuse to come to richmond and give you another schwack of cash.

the o8 te610 is an awsome ride, love my new bike. there is alot of changes on the 08 and all good, one thing isthe fuel injection no dead spots and always right there when you want a fist full, one thing people should know the throttle is very sensitive.the only real thingthe bike needed was some great lights and i fixed that with dual 4"halogens from baja design.with my heated vest ,gps, and both dual beams on and still charging 14.5 back to the battery. evrey one welcome to ask me questions. about the te.

theres a few TE450s left at [the KELOWNA HUSKY dealership ] they look HOT HOT..i was gonna get a 2008 HONDA XR650L [what was i thinking:shoot:] so i could ride to work and rideup the POSTILL [behind my house] anyway ,happened to see a 2005TE510 at the shopwhile was in there checking out the 450s... so i dropped the ball and got the HUSKY...so im now a proud owner of a tricked-out 510..when i took SPOOKY [my dog]out for a hike later that dayin the ponderosa.. I was walking on air as i hiked up some extreme stuff NOW thinkin' if my HUSKY could go up this too...pick it up next week and will get it street certified and insured as soon as possible..already saving up $$ for the light-kit [$650.00] its what i wanted-6th gear,a lightweight, powerful, reliable -go anywhere -motorcycleim stoked and celebrating-----:hb:[im always celebrating!!! ... LOL!!]

congrats on the new ride. you will love it ,good power and a great bike allround. i put dual 4" halogen baja design lights on and they are great.450.00$ . on and off road. dont know what your plans are but check your chargeing system. i have an 08 te 610 and its no problem,360 watts of chargeing, bring it on. anyway have a good one.

How does the new TE 610 perform on the street? What is the top speed, and can it cruise at highway speeds? I live in whitehorse YT and I have a choice between a KLR, DR650, DRZ400, and a TE 610. From my house, I travel around 10 km on dirt roads before I hit pavement. I want to do long trips, such as touring the dempster highway in the summer. I'm pretty sure a KLR will suit this purpose fine, but I was wonding if a te 610 would be just as good. Should I get the KLR?

yo dw here to let you know what i think. the klr is a good beast but old school, the te 610 is a perfect bike in my eyes.the te is thin like a razor,300lbs close to 60 hp.handles like a dream on the road. it gets blown around on the road a little bit but cruises at 125 to 135 kph like nothing. 180 kph top end 6 speed wide ratio trans .now off road your on a race bike hauls ass and holds a great line.360 watts of charging system, heated vest dual baja head light system and a gps and still charging 14.5volts back to the battery. what year are you looking at i have an o8. lets talk. for the money best bike best buy on the market.

Thanks for the info. It turns out the honda dealer up here doesn't sell husqvarna bikes, just thier outdoor products. So getting a TE is out of the question. Thanks for the help anyway.

get a HONDA endo.............DW,my use of my TE510 will be 10 min ride to work and back-5days a week- then weekends up the POSTILL..no highway-[have ZZR600 for that]just local streets and mountains..im saving my charging system for accessorie fans [for cooling] as i dont need bright headlights as i dont ride at night [too many deer]what kind of street/kit can i get that keeps my stock headlight and just adds turn signals and brake light??..i plan later to get SUPERMOTARD 17 in wheels to use on the road during the week and change out to knobbies for off road use..i tried this last year using a KLR but the TE is more to my needs..
