what are the requirements to qualify for either megson or beacon? i am a newer rider with only a year with my class 6. i think i recall hearing you need 3+ for beacon, not sure about megson.

im not convinced i need comp or collision for my 01 DRZ as their book value is far below what i could resell it for here. hey dorky, what did it cost you for your DRZ with megson and was that both comp. and collision?

Just wondering guys what the minimum time you need to have held a valid drivers license is to qualify for insurance coverage through Megson-Fitzpatrick or Beacon? 10 years? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks all and safe riding!

Hey Koots. I just saw this post. Sorry.

I have a Husaberg 400 and some larger KTMs. I carry comp and collision on the 400 because it's so cheap. I pay $269 per year but that is in part because of a big discount I get for having more than one bike insured with Megson.

A quote from the Maxxam site:

"We offer a combination of on-road and storage coverage. The policy automatically takes into consideration the seasonal use of motorcycles, so we don’t restrict your on-road use to a certain period of time"

I don't see a detailed description on their site - you better make sure you are insured for off-road use.

Hey - I'm so glad I saw this - I'm just getting insurance and it worked for me - DSBC must be the first forum that directly saved me money ( aprox $40)!
Thanks

So then the Beacon portion is just comprehensve coverage for your machine and items on the machine? Does it add any liability coverage or is that all through ICBC?

Thanks guys.
