Hey everyone, Names Cody. i float around on a ton if differnt forums, mainly 4x4 related, and ExPo if anyone uses that. been into overland travel for awhile now and have been itching to get on a bike for some time, have been around dirt bikes since i was a little kid so naturally the next step is a dual sport. been lurking lots and reading up on many different bikes and Think im going to go with a KLR, started the process to get a brand new one the other day and should be a new owner shortly. been putting it off to get my motor cycle license. anyways, looking forward to meeting all of you guys at some point or another.

Hi all! My name is Rick, and I live over on Gabriola. I've been around a while, but this is my first post. I've got an 08 KLR that I'm doing my best to wear out. (Turned 70,000kms last weekend.) I met Frank (forget his tag) a while back when he built me a sweet aluminum box for my bike. A while back I ordered a 'Dual Sport Riding Techniques' dvd from Motopeak in Colorado. It took so long to come we thought it was lost in the mail, so Natalie over there sent another. Lo and behold the original showed up the same day! She suggested to donate it to a local group (see attached email) and so I thought I'd pop in here for suggestions. Let me know what you think. Cheers!
Response from Natalie at Motopeak when I told her not to send the replacement-

Too late-I already sent it of course. Otherwise, the first one wouldn't have shown up-it never fails.

Could you do me a favor?

There's is no sense in mailing back and forth and making both of our inept postal services rich (especially since it's caused by their lousy service to being with!), so I'd rather donate the DVD to a good cause-is there a local club or an event in your neck of the woods coming up, especially if it's an organization into trail preservation, etc.....?
If you can think of a cause, or frequent a local club-with christmas coming up I'm sure there will be lots of opportunities to donate the DVD to a good cause-if you wouldn't mind passing it along with our best wishes-I'd sure appreciate it!

BTW this is an excellent DVD (I have one as well) and is instructed by a inmate over on ADV rider - Neduro - Ned Suesse. He's entered in the 2012 Dakar.

Welcome ardyjay,

That would make a sweet prize for the ORCA run or the NO WORK ZONE run next year. Of course Natalie at Motopeak would get her plug as well. Hope to see you at these events .

Sounds good to me. Who, where should I send it to? They could contact and thank Natalie, and maybe give them a plug.

Next time you go by Frank's shop you can pass all the goods and info on to him as he is both an administrator of this site and an organizer of the No Work Zone run. Hope you can make it out to the ride as this year we will have a C loop as well as B loop with some A options!

Thanx ardjay and Natalie
