agreed on the bigger displacement. but at least it has a six speed! a 450x with a plate and a six gear wide ratio transmission maybe just around the corner?

I was kinda thinking a electric start steel frame, efi 650r six speed. At least it would last. Should be interesting to see how the valve train stands up on the 230l

I guess the world has gone away from 50k mile top ends.
It.s all about the long term grunt :)

That little Honda is a heavy slug, but if the price is low enuff it might be a good entry-level bike. Now the ideal dual sport would have to be less than 300 lbs wet, with a 250+ km range, 6-speed wide ratio, good behavior on trails yet capable of cruising at 120 kph, easy to maintain (simple screw-driver adjustment for valve clearance and all the other high-maintanace stuff very easy to get to), huge bags of linear power. Oh yeah, we would need lights that don't fall off, a sturdy but light luggage rack, and a couple of lifting straps for pulling hert out of the tulies, and a decent tool kit.

They made one of those, it was called the TE610.
