Yeah!!! At least it's not one of those rated at 10 # max ones. Overload unlikely. Bike manual says 399# capacity (rider + passenger+ luggage). Sobike and rackshould be able to carry the load for a multi day outing no problem. Avatar will be updated soonest.
Hey guys just saw this thread now. Wow looks like a good skid plate. Didnt know any were yet available for the 09 KLX 250s. How was dealing with the company? Any issues? Also is it possible to order this skid plate online? What did it cost you guys in canadian dollars after shipping, taxes and other fees (border? etc). Definately want to put some armour on the bike. A skid plate and rad guards is where I want to start.
Actually just found the Utah Sport Skid plate online a gnarlyparts.ca. Just over $128.00 with taxes and shipping included. Beats $152 CADwhen ordered directly from Utah sports!
I got mine back in July when our dollar was a fair bit strongerforUS$115 total.Wasn't aware of Gnarly parts at the time. Close to a tie for $$s I'd say. What other farkles are you looking to get?
Want to get some rad guards. Almost trashed the right rad assembly after adumbmishap last month (ahh being a newbie). Broke the fairing and bent the outside radiator bracket. Got the bracket twisted back into shape with the help of Sparkle. Want to get some protection for the rads as they are big $$$ to replace. Dont know of any yet available for the 09 klx. Contacted both Unabiker and Scorpion Racing. They both told me that they are planning to make rad guards for the 09 KLX 250s but they wont likely be available until next spring.
I'll be keeping an eye out on the availability for some rad guards as well, having read about your episode. Would have preferred an air-cooled bike but those are few and usually old. Had a close call falling over but managed toget thehandlebar turned enough at the last split second so the lever guard took the hit.. Keep the rubber side down.
Just recieved my Utah Sports skid plate from gnarlyparts. Just curious to know if there are only the 2 clamps that come with skidplate? Didnt recieve anything stating the number of bolts etc that are supposed to be included.
Got the skidplate installed. Overall Im impressed with the fit and finish. The clamps were a bit ofa pain to get installed though without them falling off the frame :mad3:. After a bit of swearing and frustration though, I got them on. Definately like the fins which add that extra bit of protection.
