KTM 525 EXC as a Adventure Bike?

John , I sure agree with your comments. When I did my report on the CNF ride, I never found any dirt roads, but the FSR was single lane, paved with ruts, and I was thinking as I got deeper and deeper into unknown territory alone, this is my adventure. I have the same motor(almost ) as your bike, and yes I agree, sometimes it's all slab, but like that route we did last summer in Washington, was a keeper. I will be doing more like that. A rider needs to decide if they are going to be doing more pavement than dirt, or vice versa.

Hi Steve,

There's a lot more rides like the one we did last summer in Washington and I'm looking forward to doing them with you and Bill. You're right about making the right decisions about where you're going to ride your bike and then getting the right bike for the kind of riding you want to do. Here's a pic of a guy who thinks a Vstrom is a dirt bike. I don't know if he's having any fun but I know if I was in that predicament I'd be thinking "Street is neat".

have you read about the guy that has an older Honda road bike and he pulls a trailer with his 350 Suzuki on it for the off road stuff? I think he's called Ratman. That's the best of both worlds.

The First thing I would ask is, what you "dt200" classify an Adventure Bike as.

Plus, what kind of riding and with what other Bikes if any are you going to be riding with. How much stuff to want to carry, etc.

I have a 530 KTM and have done a 800 plus km long dualsport day on it.
