Anyone riding in the lower mainland this weekend? Lookin to ride Sat/Sun.

Don.:p

Hi Don, where were you thinking of going? For a suggestion, we could revive the Bruces' tradition and meet there at 9:00 on Sunday for breaky and then go for a ride, maybe others would be interested in doing that as well. Another suggestion would be to meet at the Vance road gate Sunday morning and ride the church/Tamahi trails. Whatcha think?

I miss Bruce's Breaky....not good for me this Sunday but would be good to get together with the Boys (and Girls?). Haven't been up to the NW Connector trailhead in a long time and it would be interesting to see how the trailwork has held up. Still would be fun to push that thing through. So much riding, so little time :(

Hi Ron,

I agree with you about the NW connector. Interest seems to have fallen off this year but it's not too late to get it going again. There are some great trails north of the Dickson Lake watershed and it'd be nice to have a way to get to them without having to drive all the way up to West Harrison.

NW connector sounds fun! Where do I go and when? Is Sunday best for everyone?

Don

Hi Don, The connector it is. We can ride up there and see how far we get. I know a lot of good trails in that area so we'll have a full day no matter where we go.

Let's meet up at Bruces' Country Market on the corner of 240th St and Lougheed hwy (rte 7) at 9:00 Sunday morning. Hopefully some of the other Bruces regulars will join us. Should be a great day.

I will try to join you on Sunday. How long is the ride? I have a new bike and think it is good for 200Km. I have been getting 150 km when the low fuel light gomes on.

You should be OK with a range of 150 km. There is a new gas station at the intersection of Sylvester Road and the Lougheed hwy and you should top your tank up there if you're not trucking it up to the trail head. We can talk about it on Sunday at Bruces'. The road up to the connector is a long, steep and rocky "B" trail so it is not recommended for novice riders, nor is it big bike friendly.

Great ride - I hope you guys made it through. Too much clutch work for me with the way the bike is geared. When I get new tires and the gearing changed, I would love to try the trail again!!

Sad state of the northwest connector, bottom 2/3 still OK ,top 1/3 overgrown with lots of rocks and deep crossditches, clearcut trail overgrown, large trees blown down across trail at summit. Franhosers burn outs still there.

What time of day were you guys there? I spent a few hours in the area today but didn't see anyone, decided to take off around 1:30 when the crazies with quads and guns got too thick.

Hey Scott, was a few of us riding up there in two seperate groups. Surprised we didn't see ya as our group was leaving around the time you mentioned. We stopped for a break at the entrance to the NW connector.

Then continued on NE of Salisbury Lk. and back down to Salisbury Lk. to admire the pilsner rock. Was great to get out with some new faces and familiar ones. I had a great day.

Cheers, Alex.
