Any more details on the two B loops? Hills, rocks, roots, logs. I'm hoping for a compelling arguement against taking my 990 on the B2.
Thanks
Without knowing your talent level on the 990, I can't really say much. However, in general, I suspect that 95% of 800/950/990 riders will not have fun on B2. B1 is very much oriented toward a competent rider on a big bike, B2... not so much.
B1 has very few technical sections: a couple of short hills and some easy singletrack. It is long and is meant to be run fast - perfect for a decent rider on a big bike.
B2 has numerous technical sections. It's not too hard on a 400 but is a bit of a workout on a 650. Lots of rocks, a number of logs to jump, some skinny single track, rocky downhills, etc.
My favorite B2 section is the mud-flats entry into a twisty uphill covered with roots and rocks - partway up the uphill is the 16 inch log to jump and then a couple of quick sidewinder logs to finish. I wouldn't want to restart a 990 on that hill.
Cheers
PS - These never look like much in the photo but this is 5 feet down into the creek and back up again. Fairly skinny entry and exit for a 990.
