Mirrors for dualsport dirtbike?

I'm looking for a set of mirrors for my KLX450R. The bike has the Baja kit and Ascerbis handguards, so there is not a lot of room left for more add-ons. Any advice on mirrors that work in the city yet can survive frequent crashes will be appreciated.

I've been looking at these also. They use ram mounts. My gps ram mount started to loosen up after a couple of years on my quad and now I have to use some channel locks to keep it tight so it doesn't vibrate and move. Alot of users of these mirrors seem to echo this somewhat. Having said that I like the look of these and would put them near the top of my list. I think they are just over $100 for a pair.

hey scott good find. after spending over $200 buck last year on mirror only and yesterday breaking another one at mcnutt i'm going to try these.

They use the ram mount system, something I like because my gps also uses this system parts are available everywhere

When I get it I will report back

I ended up ordering a pair of these mirrors since they seem to stick out far enough to do some good, yet fold outta the way when dirtbiking. I'll post the results of this hind-sight experiment when results becomes available.

The other mirror that was recommended looks bomb-proof and one could also use it's Ram-mount for mounting a GPS for off-road navigation. (I have the Ram-mount installed on both of my bikes so that I can switch a Garmin CSx GPS back and forth as needed.)

They work okay but you have to twist your body a bit to get a clear view behind sometimes.

Before you all go out and buy them,Just wait till Tom has tried them. i have a set and do not like them at all. They keep move around they and are very frustrating

I bought the Procycle bar-end mirrors, installed them, then drove down North Vancouver through heavy traffic to try em out at the dirtpile in south Richmond (Triangle Park?). They come with what looks like solid aluminum clamps but what in reality is pot metal. One of the clamps broke during installation. The instructions say " do not over-tighten" but who reads instructions? Motorsport will send me a new clamp to replace the brocken one. In the interim I used JB Weld to mend the fracture.

The mirrors provide a wide-angle view of what is behind and are great for moving through traffic. They do not seem to twist out of position when going over bumps, and are easily folded out of the way. Their only downside, other than the crappy metal used ito make the clamps, is that the wide-angle view makes vehicles behind very small and hard to see unless they are up close. I did not see the police car behind me until his lights started to flash. The ticket price was much more than that of the new hardware!

Ya know I bought the same mirrors. Thought it was ok not having to look around my upper arms. Funny I broke one clamp by over tightening it too, repaired it with JB and it held fine so far. May go back and reinforce them both with JB. The guy on the phone warned me about over tightening when ordered. But they seemed to hold well in the wind and today I had them folded in and they stayed put. Not bad for 50 bucks. Big bonus is they don't take up any space on the bars.

The police had received complaints about some maniac on a dirt bike, so when he saw me he pulled me over. I had not come to a complete stop when hanging a right at a stop light, so he got me on that. As for the maniac on the dirt bike - my license number and bike colour did not match the description the police had received from the complainant. The take-away lesson is - even though bicycles get away with not coming to a complete stop and other minor infractions, motorcycles will get nailed.

Thanks. Good reminder to ALWAYS put a foot down with complete stop. Too bad you paid the price for some nignog's hooliganism.

There was no crazy dirt biker complaint. Just an excuse to to stop and check you out. The ticket was to justify the lame excuse.
