My New Ride

Got it yesterday morning and put 250k on it yesterday afternoon. My first impression is that this is a great handling bike - it's just a lot of fun to ride.

Yes it is. They made some changes to it from the previous models, mostly cosmetic, but the big difference is they added rubber motor mounts and rubber footpeg pads which, according to reports, significantly reduced vibration. I never rode the earlier models so I can't make a comparison but I can say that this model is really smooth.

Hey John,

NICE BIKE!!

I guess when you were telling me on our Sylvester ride that you wanted to buy one that you were pretty serious!

I can't wait to get you on video doing a creek or log crossing.

Hey, the creeks and log crossings are what I got my Honda for. This ones pretty much for street riding and maybe some gravel FSRs. I'm riding it down to Monterey next July for the GP at Laguna Seca. I put another 300km on it today and I think it's prolly the best handling street bike I've ever ridden, and that includes a Norton Comando and a BSA Goldstar.

See you at the GP John! Unfortunately I can't ride down due to time constraints (already taking the previous two weeks off to go to the BMWMOA rally in Oregon). Nice to see we share taste in bikes AND racing (I mean REAL racing). :hb:
