new xr650r

Hello all. I am interested in a new xr650r. I am a dual sport rider, about half road and half on dirt tracks and roads. I love good off road suspension. Right now I have a yamaha ttr600 03. I like it but it is air cooled and gets hot. Also, when it is hot I tend not to stop, because it is a hassle to get it going again. So, my only concern with the xr650r is, does it have the same problem? Is it hard to start when it is hot? Or hard to start any time?

Try checking advrider.com there is alot of info on that site in regards to the xr650r. I have ridden with a couple of xr650r's and there was no problem starting them except when we were at elevation. It may have taken the rider 8-10 kicks instead of 1-2.

Thanks Soup. I will check out that site. I have asked around at a few forums and the xr's sound like a good bike and easy to start.

I have owned a XR650r for the last 4 yrs,contrary to popular belief its not hard to start once you know what you are doing hot or cold.

Having said that if you lay the bike over and it floods that is another story then it can take a fair bit of effort/time.

All in all I would buy another one in a heartbeat.
