I had a bunch of inquiries on doing another NI Ride again this year... I will hold it earlier this year, around the Canada Day Long weekend...
This year will be a caravan format where we carry all our gear on board and use a different campsite each night... The destination for this year will be the Mahatta River area which will require about a 250 KM fuel range...
This years route will be big bike friendly but there will be some steeper terrain on the day 3 alternate route which can be opted out of... Also on day 3 there will be an optional B section that the more experienced riders may want to take on the way to that nights camp...
The plan for this year will be:
Day 1 Fri
I will put the first nights camp close to the hwy near Woss so it will be easy to find for riders coming in Friday evening... For those that can make it earlier in the day we will meet up at the Cambell River chevron station and spend the day riding back roads before joining the rest of the group at the evening campsite ...
Day 2 Sat
Take in the back roads from Woss to Port Alice for fuel and then out to the west coast to camp the night at one of the beaches...
Day 3 Sun
Return back to Port Alice taking in an alternative route, fuel up and then take a different backroad route heading south camping the night in the Bonanza Valley...
Day 4 Mon
Homeward day, those that want to B -line it can take the hwy... Those that haven't had enough of the dust can do another half day of it on the way to Cambell River
-Riders should be self sufficient with their own camping supplies, cooking gear and campsite meals... We will be in a small center at least one time per each day of the ride...Here you will be able to purchase fuel and a meal for the evening campsite and also hit a restaurant for lunch... The centers we will pass through on this ride are Gold River, Woss, Port Alice and back to through Woss on the last day...
Could the riders on the list let me know if you can make it for a Friday Morning meet up in Cambell River... And those that would meet that evening at the Campsite near Woss...
The first RV will be on Friday around 12:30 PM at the chevron located in Cambell River right at the HWY 19/28 junction... The Second RV will be at the Friday night Camping area for riders coming late: It is located about 3 KM north of the Woss junction just off HWY 19... Follow the powerline trail left off the highway and keep your eye out for a trail branching off to the left,take the left and follow this trail to the end and that is camp...
