Took the bike out of its winter storage area, destination? Open air man cave;).

First hill looks kinda gnarly:shock:.

Tried a coupla' times but had to get a helping hand , couldn't find any traction. Short single track section was a breeze:tup:.

Finally arrived at destination, close to all the comforts nearby:dr:, BBQ, tunes, tools and fridge.

Didn't have the GPS so no tracks;). My neighbors love me:).

Cheers, Alex.

After the grueling trip the bike was washed. Have decided to leave it in the lowered position for now, after a discussion RMR. Was recommended to do some other mods instead(those that know me realise it may not happen soon;))However decided to change the fork oil.

Springs are within spec. The stock front on DR ain't the best off road but do ya think the condition of the fork oil was helping:shock:.

Quite different from the good stuff on the left, guess I shoulda' done this sooner:p.

Cheers, Alex.

Ok, the immediate left not thefar left:p. That flammable stuff is the old blinker fluid, switching to the new synthetic enviro friendly stuff now.

OK so time to get workin' on the area of the bike that does most of the work. Lots of bolts that haven't seen a wrench since the final build at the factory. Took some lube and sweat and some language:mad3: the neighbors haven't heard since I worked on my windowscomputer.

Love that little motorcycle lift:tup:. Suzuki manual calls for lots of special tools for working on the bike, all I got is a 16 oz. ball peen hammer, wood and sockets. Worked like a charm. Pulled the cush drive bearing and found a lot of the Stave lake area:spl:.

And yes the factory is cheap with grease when putting these bikes together. Now for those of you observant types you will notice not a single Pilsner in any of those pics.

Cheers, Alex.

you should've take apart and greased the stearing bearings too when you had the forks off. Same story as the swing arm if not worse.

looks like that bike will be ready to ride the vancouver island orca run.if the new bearings are sealed take off the seal cover with a small pick andpack the sh-- out of those bearing with grease.the new ones dont always have a lot of grease in them.1 pilsner per bearing should do it

Might have to practice the seal thing on theold bearings cause I gots more pilsners than bearings:hb:.Waiting on the work schedule, might possibly make the Orca run:hf:. Steering head bearings ???? Damn, Oh well just have to do it as I usually do: throttle and pilsner distribution for directional control, screw the steering bearing thingamajigs.

Well got the bearings in, replaced brake fluid etc. Removed helmet lock it was bent and never used much, interesting to find that the bolt securing it was a tamper proof torx:spl:. Decided to move the grip heater switch wasn't all that riding friendly accessible. The hole down in the fairing was where it used to be located.

The new mount is some sort of cheapo furniture wrench I found in my immense collection of JUNK. Mounts nicely to the idiot light cluster.

Then on to 12V power outlet and Ram mount for GPS.

Oh ya and the bigger louder horn, just had to tweak the mounting bracket.

Then the replacement of the stock tool tube with the $1.99 Princess Auto welding rod tube.

And yes it holds three pilsners perfectly:).

Back on the road next weekend, and the mindless posting should stop:).
