No Sparks >>??..

I have a 91 KX250, and this morning I awoke to NO spark.

Changed the plugs, checked all wire connections, and tried to disconnect the kill switch: still no spark.

Can you test a coil? if so how???? It is getting power to the one side of the coil but no spark at the plug..

Black Box will be the next option.

Anyone have an old dead KX250 with ignition parts?

Thanks:

Hi Tazz, the oil seal behind the ignition plate is probably letting an oil mist muck up the ignition works. Blast ignition area with points cleaner spray can, leave cover off to dry out for a while, try a clean plug to see if you now have spark. Don`t crank starter for ages while trying to ground plug. There is so little elec resistance that this might wreck ignition. Just try to start up with plug screwed in cyl head. My old KX500 did the same thing. Had to get this solution from Kawi factory mechanic. Bye Leon
