Well..... slow out of the parking lot, missed the light, and didn't see anybody again. Hadn't realized I was the last one out, and didn't know the turn off.
Rode to Mission - took bridge to Abbotsford, then to White Rock for coffee and a $5 used sweater to keep me warm the rest of the way home.

Hope to catch you another time and I'll buddy with someone.
:D

It was great to meet you all and I'm looking forward to finishing the work we started to say nothing of riding the connector when complete.

If any of you GPS enable types have a track to share, I love to see how far we got....

I have checked my GPS and I believe that we went 1.1 KM from the point where everyone originally left their bikes and started walking in.

I am sure looking forward to riding this when the loop is complete.

Like an idiot, I shut off my gps at the landing where we parked the trucks. But I pencilled in what I think is a reasonable estimate of how far we were able to push today:

Has anyone followed up with our friends condition. I think his name was Eric. I tried calling the Mission Hospital but they could not tell me anything without a last name.

On the return trip from our trail development day at East Stave one of our group ("one lung") had an unfortunate mishap and required paramedic assistance.

At this point wedon't knowhis condition but heappeared to have suffered a head injury. The paramedics elected to extract our friend by ambulance so I suspect his condition was deemed to be not life threatening.

This incident cast a dark shadow on what had been a wonderful day of hard work by a dedicated group and is a reminder that we participate in a sport that poses serious risks. Wear a good helmet and safety gear. None of us expect to crash but it does happen.

We all hope One Lung's injuries are minor and wish him a speedy recovery.

Does anybody know eric's last name. Ron PM'd me his name but i think its wrong. I called Fraser Valley Health and unfortunatley they cannot find anyone by that name. The operator was very helpfull and did a search of all the hospiatal within the FV Health regin.

I also phoned the Abbotsford Paramedics but same storie there too.

We need a last name due to confidentiality. They can't search by circumstance or first name.

If someone know's please PM me.

OL:

You had us all worried and I am happy to hear you suffered no serious injuries. Let me know if you need any help with your bike. It is safely stored at ruskin rider's but will need a few minor repairs.

Thank heavens you were wearing a helmet! Youwill need to replace it and may I suggest you consider a Snell approved full coverage helmet.

The reason I encourage using a full coverage is that the design provides a larger surface area to distribute the enery from an impact. Every little bit helps when safety equipment is called upon to do its job.

Speedy recovery!

Eric, it's good to hear from you and that all your parts are still attached and working. Good luck with your recovery.
