We attempted to ride up to Deadman falls to see both the carnage and to view the pristine very humid area surrounding the falls themselves.
Seven stitched pics. taken after passing thru the Criss Creek area onto the 5400 rd. headed towards Deadmans.
following the 5400 rd towards Deadmans we passed a HUGE number of small washouts crossing the roads from the runoff over the scorched land, and we've had only minimal rain for months. I can only imagine (and am willing to wager a bet if there's interest?) that a great many of our local backroads will have massive chunks of missing road/double track, due to the winter runoff next spring.
Another big pic. looking towards the green patch centered in the pic. which is the valley bottom, and the Deadman Vidette Rd.
house of broken dreams.
this is the only pic. I saved, in consideration to all that has been lost from so many folks. The lake which is now fully visible was hidden before the fire and all structures were lost. As we were not owners of land in the area we were kindly turned around just short of our goal for the day.
bear-ly visible
the most reliable tour guide.
seven stitched pics. in black and white for added dramatic effect. Though in fact most of the area in the picture is already black!
3 pics. in this, messed up helmet, panorama taken at Duffy Lake.
And lastly a selfie of sorts which gives an indication of the terrific fall day we had.
thx for the tour Floyd!
and as always, thx. fer lookin.
