It's going to be tough for me to get away also;kids and sports.In a couple of weeks the shift pattern has me off weekends so I guess it all depends on when it happens and if we can build in some time for pints???
Regarding the wiring harness, mine goes in tomorrow for that recall. I noticed in a previous thread that the dealer in Kitimat ordered "recall kits"? I was under the impression from my dealerthat they will only replace the harness if its faulty. Is a "recall kit" something I should insist on?
Also the Eroneous-One has me wondering about his timing chain issue...care to elaborate a little more?

You are 100% correct they will only replace the harness if it is damaged, other then that they will look at it and make the needed repairs. But the boys at Neids ordered the items to have them stocked just incase they would need to replace any. Seeing as there are a few of us and our trusty KLR kickin around these parts.

Can you post some dates? Long week-end in May (17th??) although this may be busy for families. We could camp in someones backyard & maybe try a local trail or two?
I can probablyget out for a long week-end with 1-2 weeks notice (..but no longer trips this year

I am not totally sure why but I bought a static balancing rig for motorcycle tires. So if anyone is interested in doing a wheel balance on their rig come on by. Mind you on the KLR I doubt it matters much but on the Bemer it sure feels better. Even on the KLR I suspect its not bad to balance out the front wheel, especially if you do much highway riding. (note the RayBans)

If you guys wanted to camp just outside town, this place is really cool and easy to find and I don't think the bugs are even out yet as it's been a bit colder there. Buck Creek Falls; if you look closely you can see the barrier that's the guardrail for the bridge and there's a lot of level ground and open spots. Nice scenery too.

Piece of pie! I didn't pay a lot of attention to the km signs but it's about 25-30k or so down Buck Flats. I can bomb out there one day after work if you'd like. You stay to the left on the two forks in the road, thefirst being Parrot Lakes turnoff until you get to a bridge. You can see the falls from the bridge on your left. There's several sets in the area worth seeing right off major roads. There's two sets close together in Perrow near North Road. The one is pretty impressive and I'd say a must see, Finley Falls on the Granisle Highway pretty close to Topley, and there's a small but pretty nice to see waterfall off the Equity Mine Road. I'm still trying to figure out exactly how to find the Bulkley Falls if you're aware of how to find those.

What you talking about too far....thats why god make bike with moto in middle....ride boy ride and do we need help:gaah:without you we know nothing:shoot:. We are going to make it a weekend with some riding and stuff. I also ordered up a bunch of wheel weights as well. Who knows may do a doo. Or or or or we could come to your place.....instead of here.

The good dr has lent me his doo tools and I was hoping to do the Doo today...but neglected to order a new rotor bolt until yesterday. Next chance for me is next Wed/Thurs. Hopefully that won't conflict with any Tech Day plans. If so let me know.

OK, this is getting confusing. We have a tire machine, but does it do m/c tires? The Dr has a balancing (static) mechanism as well as Doo tools. I don't remember the Dr. mentioning these fine tools were in his possession, no surprise as I have the Selective Memory Infliction, but I must question this New Rotor Bolt acquisition. Why does anyone need one? Please help me on this one! I've had more demanding machines that required rebuilds but never replaced a rotor bolt. But I'm certainly ready for new rubbers and a Doo, the question is can we plan for an epic weekend of maintenance plus riding?

Truth be told it's not the most useful thing in the world for tube tires. I've changed a lot of tubeless motorcycle tires with it for racing but the only thing I really use for tire changes on a tube tire is the bead breaker.
