Really dumb question...

Brace yourselves for a knee slapper! This phenomenon is induced by many factors. The first culprit is cold weather riding, enjoyed by diehards. Now I have never had any luck whether it be with open face goggle combination or full face lids, and the snake oils haven't garnered brilliant results either. I use both lids, the open face for the dry days and full for the downpour rides. The full face lid I have allows you to lock the shield open a few mils but doesn't have much effect unless you are moving.

The first problem is your normal condensation of breathing. Second is sweating when your over dressed, and third is steaming of water from the contact with the engine or ripping through the wet stuff.

Clear vision has always been a must for me, that way you can see the obstacles that might take you down. The Quick Straps I have and they are a must IMHO.

The Foggy mask is good too, they do help. But if you think you need more I have an econo solution that works better, but does use the Foggy mask as the staple. However you can get the neoprene at a local Girlie store and fabricate your own for the same price and have more than enough material left over to make many more waterproofing projects.

Before I get into the project details, I suggest a neck warmer type of apparatus to seal up the helmet from outside influences, plus it keeps you warmer. Neoprene is your friend here.

Knee slapper time! When you make your homemade Foggy mask, make an allowance to add a snorkel! Yes, go to the Dollar store and get a snorkel. You don't have to bite on it, just secure it in a manner to your homemade mask that it is in close proximity of your blow hole. Strap it to the underside of your lid so that it vents towards the rear but still prominently to the side. Bend a U in it at the end and cut a dime sized opening on the very end of the long side just before the bend. Physics takes control now with the Venturi Effect. As long as you are free wheeling along a vacuum is created, continuously exhausting your breath, and whilst you aren't moving you still exhaust out the tube.

Funny that this post came up as I had actually went out and purchased a 6"x 1 yard strip of neoprene to make a new one. Why? My first ride was Feb 20th in the NW, and had the same issue as the first post.

Does it work? With a full face lid sealed from the rest of the contaminants, the improvement is excellent, not 100% effective, damn close though.

Why don't I have one now you ask? Never rode this early in the year up here. I used the contraption down in Van until some nice gentlemen decided to steal my vehicle and everything in it.

I bought a stick-on 2nd skin for the inside of the visor and it has worked well for my full face helmet around $30
