You're right spc, all the manufacturers should follow K.T.M. with proper dualsport bikes. The problem right now is all the people (including myself) that have recently shelved out a bunch of money and legaly insured a bike for the road, might face having their plates taken away ? The dealers sold these bikes and told us no problem to put them on the road. My question is will these dealers now continue to have these bikes inspected for their customers and will they continue to advertise these bikes as being dualsportable? They may end up giving people their money back.
KTM spent the money to get their bikes certified by Transport Canada. If other companies (Husky, Yamie, Honda, etc) were willing to spend the money needed to have their bikes certified we would all gain. Instead of complaining about government rules we should be complaining about companies that are not giving us the bikes we want. Maybe we should give KTM a pat on the back for taking the steps needed to provide us with LEGAL dual-sport bikes!
