'returning' rider looking for trails, Comox Valley

After too many years of pavement I have a dirty bike (KTM 360) again and am itching to get out on it.

Not really up on the riding areas here so some tips would be great. I understand about keeping the good stuff on the down-low so if I could tag along with others that would be awesome. I'm not plated so it would have to be an off-road only ride.

Sunday's looking good weather-wise, anyone heading out?

Cheers

Well, I made it out on my own for a ride Sunday. Following someone's suggestion (thanks for the chat VW) I started at the end of Railway Ave. Found my way under the hwy, onto the powerline and headed generally north on old and new logging roads. Unsure of the fuel endurance of the big KTM smoker I turned around fairly early and made it back with lots of gas to spare. Had a blast and can't wait to do it again.

I'm a bit apprehensive about riding unfamiliar areas alone so if anyone's looking for a ride buddy pls let me know. My schedule's flexible and I'm itchin' to ride :)

Cheers

A good map to have is the Cambell River Search & Rescue map it shows all that area and is available at sporting goods stores.

Weather's looking good for a weekend ride boys...a little bit of everything keeps it interesting.

Ideas anyone...new trails we haven't tried.

Maybe see if we can find those snowmobile club cabins up behind Mt Wash., Mike.

Tik-tak, you in?

I'd love to go boys but I cannot do this on my cow. After last time I got really frustrated at the weight of the KLR. I decided to buy a DRZ 400 S. I just can't get it until maybe April. Until then I will have to stay off challenging terrain before I really start hating the KLR.

Thanks for the invite though.

...finding the cabins.

Now that I've cleared my schedule on Saturday :), sure, I can ride Sunday. Will the ride be off-road? (no plate). Where will the riding start, so I don't have to come in to HD then get back in the truck and drive out to the hills?

Cheers
