At 110 indicated you should be at around 4200 I think....I'll check tomorrow on the way to work and let you know. 110 indicated is actually around 100-102.

As noted by smedley the speedo is optomistic.

Mine is actually doing 94 kms/hr verified by 2 diferent GPS units, when the speedo reads 100....so its about 6% off.

Mine has not had stock gearing for so long, I cannot remember what the revs were, but seems to me they were just under 4,000 at 100kms/hr indicated, and just over 4,000 at 110 indicated.

Mine with a 14 tooth front sprocket turns about 4,200 or 4,300 at 100 indicated now.

Is the speedo thing unique to the KLR'S or are most bikes this way?

Both KLR250 I had and the KLX250 I have nowshow 10% higher than my GPS; so at the very least it is a Kawasaki trait.

My 99 DR650 shows 8k over the GPS.

My 07 950SE shows about 8k above the GPS also.
