SA: 950 SE/Adv Exhaust options - Must have spark arrestor(s)

Hi all,

My SE is hesitating/misfiring at low-to-mid RPM (around town), and before I have the carbs balanced (hopefully this is the issue, but I'm a mechanical moron, so who knows...), I'm considering getting rid of the stock exhaust and doing a Canisterectomy to get rid of the brutal heat the stock cans put out. I'm undecided on whether or not I will go with a 2-1 setup, or replace both cans. I'll be adding a Safari tank over the winter, so going with a 2-1 to make room in the back for an Aux tank is low priority.

Does anyone have any strong feelings on any brands?

In priority order:
1. Must have spark arrestor(s).
2. Would like to keep noise levels to a minimum.
4. Would like to buy local if possible, but to be honest, I will have to weigh local cost against ordering online.

Mivv? Wings? Akrapovic? FMF? Remus?

So far, Wings looks like it may be the best option if I want a SA. Does anyone have any strong feelings about any of the brands? Thanks all.

+1 for the Wings. Top notch quality with two spark arrestor options. Nice and quiet too. I think there is a BC dealer in Kelowna as well.

Yeah Ken at ^^^ has WINGS , the jetting and the tank.
Install new spark plugs also(buy them somewhere else like Crappy Tire).
Pivot pegs are a GREAT addition.

I have dual WINGS, I Like the sound.
Heard mixed reviews of the aux side tank...cracking and falling off.

Thanks for the other suggestions as well. Pivot Pegs are already on my list. Had them for my GSA and loved them!

Yeah the Pivot Pegs are awesome.
I Put them on in 2008, and they are still as tight as new, they are not quite as sharp any more but not really worn too mutch.

BIG KATE is a little wide at the seat line )):..... I find when standing it's a little hard at the knees as they are right at the widest part and touch the tank pannel. I think the extension would be a great addition to the pivot pegs..I keep meaning to order the extensions but in 3 years I haven't gotten arroundtuit :gaah:
