So what's the skinny on Husqvarna these days? Warranty? Parts?

I'm a big fan of the pre-BMW Huskies, I've had 3 of them.

Now I'm looking for a new bike and have located a TE250 and TE310 both available new. I'm assuming that this would be a bad choice as KTM will be slow to support the legacy brand?

I had a hard time getting a caliper a couple of years ago while BMW was at the helm. Your thoughts?

FWIW, I've had excellent access to parts / support for my pre-BMW Huskies during the past 12+ months through site sponsors.

If you can't find parts locally, you can always reach out to Dan at MotoXotica too. I've now ordered almost a complete set of plastics, rear brake lever, and a set of Arc Brake/Clutch levers. Was fast and surprisingly cheap. Oil Filter kits on the 449 are compatible with the BMW G450X, so getting those locally is easy for that bike. Not sure if those are common between all TE displacements, but it's pretty easy to look things like that up on a parts fiche.

Thanks for the replies. When I tried to find a rear Brembo caliper I ended up getting one from Ebay, as no one seemed to be able to source one. But, I may roll the dice on the 310 if I can get a good price.

if it is anything like trying to find parts for a husaberg i dont think that there would be much problem. I haven't had much of a problem but i have been using Kenco on the island and Forest Power sports in prince george. Both were easy. Except getting my Akrapovic exhaust. That took forever. Though i did get it. Anyways. Shouldn't be a prob.

I called one of our sponsors today and was told that nobody in the lower mainland sells Husky parts anymore. So were do you go? I need a side stand.

Thanks

Thanks for the links.

Hi Rick,

If you can't get the side stand from our site sponsors on Vancouver Island you could try Taskys Metric Cycle in Everett, I'd try the Canadian stores first though. Courtenay Motorsports is where I bought my TR650 and I have found them to be excellent to deal with.

Thanks John,

I got my power upgrade kit from Tasky's cause I couldn't get one here.

My Husky is such a great Bike, it is more than worth a bit of extra effort to get parts.

I went to International Motorsports today to get a turn signal for my TR650. They checked the computer and told me "Good news, Husky parts are now available". So it appears that the problems created when Perrier bought the brand have pretty much been solved. International is a Husky dealer and a site sponsor so that would be the first place to go. I've heard rumors that International dropped the Husky brand but I can assure you that, as of this afternoon, International is definitely a Husky dealer.
