Speedo Issues

So on start up of the bike my speedo seems to read r6 I assume this is an error code. Also the speedometer comes on as soon as I turn the key (2013 ktm500exc) on most other 500 it usually does not turn on until a wheel is moved. Also the clock will not hold a time after the key is turned off. and the trip meter refuses to hold KMs after the key is turned off.

I replaced the battery and it is still happening. (FYI the battery in the speedo)

Thoughts? Solutions?

Ignore Sylvain,
Check the cable going to the front wheel especially up by the brake lever to see if maybe it's kinked and worn thru...

Sylvain I know that last pic is your boyfriend but even so you should really get permission before you post pictures of other people.

By the way, did you find the little hole on the back to change the battery ?
Have you found the issue.

Did you confirm the main bike battery is supplying power like it should, this should be confirmed from battery directly to the back of the unit where it plugs in. Don't know if this might affect it or not. One of the things we found on a different KTM was the plug its self was the culprit. We could see power on the down side of the plug but it wasn't making it through the plug. I'd also confirm all of the buttons are actually working (one of them isn't stuck)
