To be honest, I've never worked on suspension... never cared before (however I'm fatter than I used to be), but I'd love to have this bike setup well... something seems off with it...
The bike is new and shiny so the rear gas is likely charged ok?
The bike sits too low when I'm on it. about 20deg tilt rear. The front is pretty stiff, and seems ok, but the bike seems to bounce around a great deal in rougher stuff and can be difficult to control. I've had the dealership set it up and even after "firming up" for trail use 220lbs it still seems to bottom out in drainage ditches... it makes a thud / scraping sound in the rear... I assume the wheel hitting the well. I'm not really a jumper rider, but like good control and I'd like to know how to fine tune my machine.
According to various posts, the bike is equipped for about a 180lbs rider from the factory. Supposedly 220lbs is difficult to setup correctly with the stock gear.
I'm pretty mechanical, and can probably do it if it's straight forward and pretty quick to adjust. Is DRZ suspension something a home guy can setup with minimal common tools? I'd love to know how yours is setup? How about a spring change?
dirt rider who/where is RMR?
