Stock fender (license plate frame) sucks...what to do?

I have an ’11 DRZ400S and I just can’t get over the BIG factory plate frame/fender setup. It’s kills me :p

What are people doing to these things? I crossed over the other day from a sportbike and I am lost. With my sportbike it was easy, just buy a "fender eliminator" kit and you’re done. I have seen some lame homemade jobs on these DRZs and I’m not really into that.
I am looking for a clean (as legal looking as possible) frame with lights. Preferably of very good quality.

Any options? Any photos?

Thanks for all the help!

Just ordered a DRC Edge taillight and plate holder from Gnarly Parts. Also ordered some smaller signal lights. I'll post some pics and a report on the install after I get them.

HOLLY CRAP! You have a set of these and they're working just fine??

I'd like a set for the KDX and an XT250, for that price
Thx!

The DRC Edge is a nice light. I have had mine and it has stood up top years of abuse. I highly recommend it.

Before installing I would coat the area where the lense meets the body with clear silicone or rtv. Water and dust will get inside if you do not do this.

As for the plate..What has worked for me is to make a backing plate for the licence plate out of sheet metal. I then attach my plate to the backer with pl premiumum adhesive (for house construction). Then bolt the entire thing to the back of the drc edge light. This solution lasted for over 4 years (A record for me)

I added a set of DRC flushmount led turnsignals that mounted on the side of the rear fender. I will take a few pictures later today and post them up so you can see.

100_2467.jpgHere's a picture of the edge taillight and new turn signals. Install went pretty well- I had to make a couple of brackets to make it work.
