Where: Cultus Lake

Cost: FREE

Time:8:30am meet for breakfast in Cultus Lake at the 'MAIN BEACH' (Lakeshore Drive, just before gas station).

10am 'Last Rider Out'

Skill Level:There is something for everyone. This ride is on logging and jeep roads with some hills. There will be puddles and may be some mud; plenty of cross-ditches.Easy enoughfor any rider on any bike.

Advanced riders will have the opportunity to take a guided 'hard' route up & over Church Mountain that will challenge them.

RAIN or SHINE ! ! ! ! ! ! !

This event is popular and has been a huge success the past three (four?) years. More than an event for 'new' riders, this has proven to be a great end-of-season for many of us. Don't be shy...

This is a guided / swept ride so no maps, roll charts, ribbons or markers. We'll have some lead riders at the turnoffs and some sweep riders to make sure that everyone gets where they aught to be.

Please check out the photo gallery to seepictures from previous Noobie rides.

Thiswill be a great opportunity to ride with the group and swap stories and tall tales fromthis season's events / adventures.

If you have any questions post them. No need to let us know if you'recoming or not; we want to see you but hey; last rider out at 10:00!

Our friends at the Greater Vancouver Motorcycle Club (Remember the Routledge Run?) have agreed to put on a BBQ lunch for us. Please bring cash & support these guys.

A number of our sponsoring dealers (http://www.dualsportbc.com/sponsors.html) have agreed to participate this year. You can expect to see a few demo bikes, get some skills guidance andmaintenance advice, etc. etc.. Rumours are that there will be some 'special deals'...

We anticipate that these dealers will help us defray our costs of arranging the brekky & lunch, so please do your part and support them.

We look forward to riding with you.

I'm in Victoria & would like bring my DR650 to the newbie ride. If anyone can provide best route there and maybe lead me to clean cheap motel/hotel.

Five of us just got in from a hard-surface ride around Shawnigan Lake, Cowichan Bay etc. More fun than I deserve. Avon Gripsters really shine on the pavement.

Marq and Roland from Western Powersports (Langley - Yamaha & Triumph) have agreed to participate. Very knowledgable personalities that have supported DSBC ever since it was just a twinkle in Tom's eye...

Rumour has it they'll be offering demo rides on a WR250R.

That's got to be as frustrating as it is painful, Dan. Bugger. Come out to the Noobie Ride anyway for breakfast or lunch & put faces to names.

Any chance you could google map the starting location for us? (True noobs need help atleast getting to the point where help resides!)

Sorry Dean, I don't know how to do that. Maybe Judy or ???

The starting / breakfast area is lakeside, across the road from the Cultus Lake Water Slides. EZ access from Yarrow or Chilliwack. The adventure is in the journey...

Mike from Pacific Yamaha / BMW will have the much-hyped GS800 as well as the G450. Maybe a X(Cross?)-Country too. I don't know about test rides...

Shaping up to be an awesome day!

Hey Mark....

Is a plate Mandatory with this ride................:hf:

Light gravel roads with no pavement is my idea of "No Plate Needed"

edit: Sorry...just read the thread and saw that it IS a plated ride.:(

Here's the link to Google Map for the starting location: Sunnyside Blvd, Cultus Lake

---Ed

Thanks Ed. Tom & I changed our minds on the starting area. The 'East Main Beach' area involves riding past a lot of residences and the parking area is small. So we are sticking with the 'Main Beach', it is close to the main road on 'Lakeshore Drive', just north of the village / gas station.

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&saddr=&daddr=49.067343,-121.976566&hl=en&geocode=&mra=mi&mrsp=0&sz=15&sll=49.072798,-121.975708&sspn=0.012454,0.027466&ie=UTF8&t=h&z=15

We'll get there early & post a DSBC sign.

Will there be noise scrutineering?
I don't know what that means. $5 words... So I'll answer 'no'.

ha ha.

What I am asking is "will the organizers test participants' bikes for noise? If so, what is the DB limit?"

I don’t condone noisy bikes, just asking the question. ;)
No. We won't be doing any tech inspections.
