T-mod

Thought I completed all the important mods I wanted to do on my KLR but ran into some issues during the noob ride that upgraded the T-mod to a must do mod.

As you probably know already the t-mod is to add an additional air vent into the carb vent that is higher up so that it doesn't choke up when going through deep water. The stock vent tube comes out under the bike.

Well, 3 of us KLR riders suffered going through puddles that were maybe 8 inches deep. One rider actually stalled as a result.

For me it was more a sluggish choking that would clear up after exiting the puddle for a few seconds. But I could see that stopping in the water or going through a deeper puddle would have killed it.

It looks like a simple mod so it will be next on my list. I think I'll just pick up the T and tube from an Aquarium shop as opposed to buying the kit from online.
Here is a link to the procedure:

With the stock gearing, the weight of the bike, and the stock tires in the wet surface - there's no way in hell I'd be able to wheelie my bike, lol! :)
