yeah why not just put a new motr in?
allthough terrible, all the pics show is metal bits in the crank case not the dammage. Any more pics? ask for the peices?

Interestings pics...you can see several rollers from the big-end bearing along with shavings from the connecting rod. The rollers are extremely hard steel and once they came loose, they would tear up the connecting rod and destroy the crankshaft in seconds.
Over 6 grand is a lot for a single engine of any kind...even brand-new, but I guess warrantee work often is inflated....for six grand I could buy 3 or 4 of these:
