Hmmm that's an interesting thought. Hooligan lives in West Van., my old stomping grounds. Perhaps we can meet for a duel along lower marine drive? From Capers restaurant to Horse shoe bay? Bring your reggie and your 950 KTM! Prepare to see that a real V-twin has 180 degrees included angle!

Ah that was fun! Still friends Hooligan?

Seems there are different portions for the race...

Responsible for the best news of the day was again the young Fin Simo Kirssi. Despite the tough conditions he reached a fabulous 9:02,67 min. - even two seconds faster than his time in the first run. A time no-one else was able to beat. So Congratulations to Simo Kirssi, the winner of the Iron Road Prologue 2005! Jimmy Lewis also improved his time - by an unbelievable 20 seconds, which put him on third, right behind the Erzberg-Legend Werner Müller. Chris Pfeiffer´s fifth place turned BMW Motorrad´s first official appearance at the Erzberg into a complete success.

The race that Salla won was the new King's class run for the first time this year the day before the big race. The "Erzberg" proper was won by BMW 1,3,5.

I see that I forgot a 0 in the price 14,000 not 1400 U.S. thats what my friend in Texas quoted for the 950 enduro. KTM or the Beemer I would be proud to own either of two.I'd just have no money left for food, fuel and heat.

Aaaahhhh, I see I got a good stir going.;);)

If I dual with any one it will not be along Marine but the Skeleton Coast in Namibia....!:D

You boys are missing the point, KTM Rules !

.......now before you go all balistic, let me explain:

I have been all over sub Saharan Africa on a couple GS's, make no mistake, it is a good bike, but it is not perfect. (granted it is not a HP2) I have also done a good amount of traveling in the same region on a 95 Tiger, (and a XR650).....here's the kicker, I likedthe Tigermore, it was way lighter and had more power, I did all the same offroad stuff with it as I did on the GS....:shoot:.....it was 25% cheaper at the time than a GS. This begs the question....if we all had a chance to experience all the Dual Sports out there, and not know what the brand is it you are on (if that was ever possible), but yet know the price....I want to know how many of us would end up on a BMW? My point is the price does not justify that bike....! you all know this

If you're into street bikes at all, I just saw Tom Cruise's custom MV Agusta F4 SPR.

OH MA GAWSH!!!!! That things just insane. Not only does he get to have a bike like that, but they make it fully custom, one of one.... then Agusta hand delivers it to him at the airport where he keeps his 5 personal planes (not including his 2 jets, this is just his planes he flies for fun...) so he closes down the airport for a bit so that he can run his bike up and down the runway for a while. As if all that wasn't enough... Agusta GIVES hime the damn bike!!!! He pays Nada, nothing, zilch, rien!!!! That's just stupid and if I might say so... completely UNFAIR!!!!

MV%20Agusta%20-%202003%20F4%20SPR%20(2).jpg

General idea, although his is pimped out!! Stock model is about $30,000 CDN.

You got the stir going? I think I started taking pot shots at the KTMs thank you very much!

Namibia, Namibia... Can't find it on my Vancouver street index so you'll have to help me out. Is that east or west of Burnaby?

I also can't find the KTM Tiger you are referring to... Do you have a URL or something for it?

That's TRIUMPH Tiger.....!, you know, that English smooth tripple, and the XR650 I mentioned, that's a HONDA.;)

Look more to your right on the map......east of Burnaby.......in fact a wee bit past England, then go due South to just above South Africa, that's Namibia. The land of sandy roads....IE......KTM country.

Wonder if Tom Cruise has a BMW HP2...? after all, seems the consensus here is if you can afford it you will definately buy it...

BMWNUTT, did BMW give you that one too? they seem to be giving a lot of these things away....first the two Poms riding the Globe, even Helge got one for US$1. Maybe there first choices where also KTM's....;)

Seeing that they are both out of reach, I will stick with the 640. It took me to Prudhoe Bay and it gave me loads of fun at the 24 hour Hope ride.....and the sound, man that's cool........:)

Not offended at all... I think it's quite hysterical actually. I'm surprised such a simple post can create such controversy.....

Ha haaaaaaaaaaaaaa! West Van? Ya that would probably work for him better. He could park with all the immaculate Range Rovers:)

They discontinued the Quota because the Italians needed some more time off in August:dr::hb:
